About Mrs. Moss

In my personal life, I met my husband, Eric, in 2014 after he moved to Tucson to become an engineer at Raytheon. We got married on the east side of Tucson in 2017 and went to Thailand on our honeymoon. Then we had our first child, Bennett, in October 2019. Bennett is growing fast and keeps us on our toes as he’s learning to walk. He loves to swim, try new foods, and chase our cat, Nora, around the house.

My Mission

As of the 2020 school year, I have 6 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Washington State University where I was a division I pole vaulter. Then I returned to Tucson to get my Master of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Arizona. I’ve long considered Tucson my home because my family was stationed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base the longest when my dad flew the A-10. I was born in England, lived in Tucson and Virginia, and my dad was stationed for a year in South Korea.

My heart relates to my students at Borman because I grew up in a military family. I cannot express how grateful and excited I am to get to continue supporting military kids and their families.

As an SLP, I have worked with preschool through 8th graders at multiple school sites, and as a state contracted evaluator, I’ve provided Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) evaluations and trainings to families of children who could not speak independently without technology. I also worked for two years at a private practice providing AAC evaluations/trainings and speech and language therapy for birth-5 years old. I am trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2 (ADOS-2).

I consider it important to maintain community involvement outside of my employment, so I have volunteered for the Arizona Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ArSHA) as their Membership Committee Chair (June 2015-June 2018) and their Vice President for Speech-Language Pathology (July 2018-July 2019). I maintain my yearly professional development by attending the ArSHA conference in the Spring and, when I can, the ASHA conference in the Fall. I received an Award for Continuing Education (ACE) where I achieved over 70 hours of professional development within 3 years (2018).

I actively maintain the following credentials:

  •  Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

  • Arizona Department of Education SLP License

  • Arizona Department of Health Services SLP License

  • Arizona Department of Health Fingerprint Clearance Card
